I happened to read an article by Regina Brett of Ohio. She is a 90 year old lively soul and writes columns. Here are some lessons from her... lessons of life we all know but hardly practice
1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

In the hospital the relatives gathered in the waiting room, where a family member lay gravely ill. Finally, the doctor came in looking tired and somber.
'I'm afraid I'm the bearer of bad news,' he said as he surveyed the worried faces.
'The only hope left for your loved one at this time is a brain transplant. It's an experimental procedure, very risky, but it is the only hope. Insurance will cover the procedure, but you will have to pay for the BRAIN.'
The family members sat silent as they absorbed the news.
After a time, someone asked, 'How much will a brain cost?'
The doctor quickly responded, '$5,000 for a male brain; $200 for a female brain.' The moment turned awkward... Some of the men actually had to 'try' not to smile, avoiding eye contact with the women.A man unable to control his curiosity, finally blurted out the question everyone wanted to ask, 'Why is the male brain so much more than a female brain?'
The doctor smiled at the childish innocence and explained to the entire group, 'It's just standard pricing procedure. We have to price the female brains a lot lower because they've been used.'

As I've Matured (Part- 2) ...
I've learned that when you're in love, it shows...
I've learned that just one person saying to me, 'You've made my day!' makes my day...
I've learned that you should never say no to a gift from a child...
I've learned that I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way...
I've learned that no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with...
I've learned that sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand...
I've learned that simple walks with my parents around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult...
I've learned that life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes...
I've learned that money doesn't buy class...
I've learned that it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular...
I've learned that under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved...
I've learned that to ignore the facts does not change the facts...
I've learned that the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person...
I've learned that when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you...
I've learned that love, not time, heals all wounds...
I've learned that the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am...
I've learned that everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile...
I've learned that no one is perfect until you fall in love with them...
I've learned that opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss...
I've learned that when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere...

Walking through the gypsy terrains of life
Looking back, i see-
a different me, in a different time and space...
rising from the ashes, rebirth
after the fall...
armoured with faith, choices and chances,
how i stood tall.
Destiny's second call...
Looking back, i see-
crossing paths, blooming hearts,
few common dreams, guffaws.
hurts, denials, lone desires,
demons of the present, ghosts of the past
and some pieces of a broken wooden door...
Looking back, i see-
myself, hopelessly bound
unfettered by love's grip,
once again...
Love-
greatest gift or fate's cruelest curse?
I saw you smile -as open as a water lily
and somehow i knew,
my world will never be the same again.
Looking back, i see-
a wounded me, by my own understanding of love
bleeding willingly and joyfully...
Isn't it impossible to pluck a star out of the sky?
But if you wanted one, i would give it a sincere try.
There's not a thing i wouldn't attempt to do,
to bring my hungry soul close to you...
Let the stars and seasons change the weather of our world
lets float, lets drown
lets fight and frown.
Lets hurt, lets heal
lets live, laugh and love
lets be...

God said....
When I created the heavens and the earth, I spoke them into being. When I created man, I formed him and breathed life into his nostrils. But you, woman, I fashioned after I breathed the breath of life into man because your nostrils are too delicate.
I allowed a deep sleep to come over him so I could patiently and perfectly fashion you. Man was put to sleep so that he could not interfere with the creativity.
From one bone I fashioned you. I chose the bone that protects man's life. I chose the rib, which protects his heart and lungs and supports him, as you are meant to do. Around this one bone I shaped you. I modeled you. I created you perfectly and beautifully.
Your characteristics are as the rib, strong yet delicate and fragile. You provide protection for the most delicate organ in man, his heart. His heart is the center of his being; his lungs hold the breath of life. The rib cage will allow itself to be broken before it will allow damage to the heart. Support man as the rib cage supports the body.
You were not taken from his feet, to be under him, nor were you taken from his head, to be above him. You were taken from his side, to stand beside him and be held close to his side. You are My perfect angel. You are My beautiful little girl. You have grown to be a splendid woman of excellence, and My Eyes fill when I see the virtues in your heart. Your eyes - don't change them. Your lips - how lovely when they part in prayer. Your nose, so perfect in form, your hands so gentle to touch. I've caressed your face in your deepest sleep; I've held your heart close to Mine.
Of all that lives and breathes, you are the most like Me. Adam walked with Me in the cool of the day and yet he was lonely. He could not see Me or touch Me. He could only feel Me. So everything I wanted Adam to share and experience with Me, I fashioned in you: My Holiness, My Strength, My Purity, My Love, My Protection and Support. You are special because you are the extension of Me.
Man represents my image; Woman, my emotions. Together, you represent the Totality of God. So man - treat woman well. Love her, respect her, for she is fragile. In hurting her, you hurt Me. What you do to her, you do to Me. In crushing her, you only damage your own heart, the heart of your Father, and the heart of her Father. Woman, support man. In humility, show him the power of emotion I have given you. In gentle quietness show your strength. In love, show him that you are the rib that protects his inner self.

You were not taken from his feet, to be under him, nor were you taken from his head, to be above him. You were taken from his side, to stand beside him and be held close to his side. You are My perfect angel. You are My beautiful little girl. You have grown to be a splendid woman of excellence, and My Eyes fill when I see the virtues in your heart. Your eyes - don't change them. Your lips - how lovely when they part in prayer. Your nose, so perfect in form, your hands so gentle to touch. I've caressed your face in your deepest sleep; I've held your heart close to Mine.
Of all that lives and breathes, you are the most like Me. Adam walked with Me in the cool of the day and yet he was lonely. He could not see Me or touch Me. He could only feel Me. So everything I wanted Adam to share and experience with Me, I fashioned in you: My Holiness, My Strength, My Purity, My Love, My Protection and Support. You are special because you are the extension of Me.
Man represents my image; Woman, my emotions. Together, you represent the Totality of God. So man - treat woman well. Love her, respect her, for she is fragile. In hurting her, you hurt Me. What you do to her, you do to Me. In crushing her, you only damage your own heart, the heart of your Father, and the heart of her Father. Woman, support man. In humility, show him the power of emotion I have given you. In gentle quietness show your strength. In love, show him that you are the rib that protects his inner self.

I am not like them
I am not like them
but I can pretend...
The Sun is gone, but I have a light
The day is done but I am having fun.
I think I am dumb, or may be just happy
think I am just happy.
My heart was broke, but I have some glue
help me inhale and mend it with you.
We'll float around and hang out on clouds;
then we'll come down
and have a hangover.
